In panel two, the crucial event in at the heart of Augustine's
metaphysical system is occurring. Again, it is an image from a dream.
The crucial event is called "The Disunification of Energy and
Awareness."
The Disunification is based upon "Augustine's Paradox" which states that because Infinity is always already the sum total of all unified Energy and Awareness, no separate thing can exist therein. Hence, creation is paradoxically impossible within the absolute unity of Infinity. To create, then, Infinity must bring forth vacuum "bubble Universes" founded in disunity. In this panel we see a tear in the fabric of Infinity which leads into an infinitesimally small vacuum space. Through the opening are being sucked the fracturing archetypes erected within Infinity. These archetypes contain the codes, or templates, of consciousness and matter upon which the new Universe will self-organize and cohere. As soon as the archetypes pass through, Infinity hermetically seals itself off from the embryonic, bubble-shaped Universe. The new vacuum Universe will then expand at superluminal velocities due to the overpressure of disunified psyche and matter inhaled from Infinity. This is the force of cosmic expansion and occurs per the Hubble Constant in our Universe. Creation is possible in the disunified vacuum universes, but only at the cost of limitations such as time and death. What cosmologists call the "big bang" Augustine understands as the disunification of Infinity disgorging coherent archetypes and raw materials into a vacuum space through an infinitesimally small aperture. What we are seeing in this panel, then, is the "backside" of the big bang as viewed from within Infinity. In our Universe it would be seen as a singularity exploding from out of nowhere in fire and great noise.
